QuestionQUESTION: I noticed very tiny black "seed type flakes" on the table where I had placed a vase of fresh cut double knock-out roses. What are they? Do I need to treat the bushes? The leaves look perfectly fine. Flowers are BEAUTIFUL!
ANSWER: Any type of small black droppings on a rose bush, are the excretion of insects that have been eating the rose leaves. Some insects leave a sticky substance on the leaves while others leave black droppings.

QUESTION: What should we do? Like to enjoy them inside as well. Pulled apart
several flowers, and could not see visable bugs.HELP!!!
AnswerThe bugs have eaten their fill and are long gone so I wouldn't worry about it now. However next spring the same insect may return, so check your roses when they start to bloom. If you see anything then just spray the roses with any rose insecticide. Safers pyrethrum sprays if you are organic or Ortho products if you are not an organic gardener.
