QuestionI have also been given a miniature rosebush and was happy to hear they do better outside. I just wonder how hardy they are? Will I need to bring it back indoors before the first frosts?
AnswerThere are two kinds of mini roses. One will go through a winter but the other won't. You can tell the difference because the tender rose has small, thin, frail laves when the other has thicker and stronger ones. If you can make the leaf move by blowing on it, then you have the frail rose and it will die, even in the fall outside. I would still pile some soil on top of the hardy one to protect it from the winter.
