Double knockout Roses

Question
I planted several Double knockout Roses, The three that I planted have no blooms at all. The the leaves seem to be healthy but no blooms. I don't even see a bud. The nursery told me when you cut the blooms that have dropped, you should see more blooms in 14 days It's been several weeks. (I live in zone 7) What am I doing wrong. I'm thinking when they die back in the winter will they produce blooms in the spring. Or will that not come back at all. All the other knockout roses planted altogether with these ares doing beautiful. What happen with the three that are not bloomin?

Answer
Roses that have just been planted will not re-act the same way as a rose that have been in the garden for a year or so.One cannot expect a nearly planted rose to flower quickly as it will take  more time. If the three Knock Outs that are not blooming are in a different location than the others which are doing well, that could be the reason they are different. The main thing to remember with roses is that if they are growing normally and making healthy canes and leaves, then there is no reason to worry. Even if there are no buds but they are still doing well, roses often use up their energy making growth at the expense of flowering. Happily there is no need to dead head your Knock Out roses as they will continuously produce flowers for you. Of course you can if you want to, but the extra amount of flowers you will get from dead heading them is very small indeed. Your roses sound quite normal to me and I think you will see flowers on them in a few weeks time.
