QuestionMy climbing rose bush is blooming but there are very few leaves? What happened to all my leaves. There are none on the ground, so they did not fall off. It has been extremely wet in the pacific northwest.
Thank you for you help.

AnswerAs you have said, normally there would be at least some leaves on the ground. So because there are not, that means it was an animal that ate the rose leaves. Deer do a very clean good job on roses, so do rabbits, but lower down and squirrels also like roses. If you can think of any type of animal in your location that could reach the leaves, then that is probably what ate them. Insects could eat that many in so short a time and you would see them.
