QuestionMy wife planted a rose bush about 20 years ago and it has the
biggest red roses around 5 inches across, and they really small great.
She says its an american beauty but from what i,ve read american
beautys are pink.
can a branch or stem be cut off and planted from this rose bush
and if so when and how should it be done so it will grow and produce a rose bush.
AnswerAmerican Beauty is normally a deep carmine pink which when first open looks like a carmine red. Yes, you can make another rose bush by cuttings but Hybrid Perpetuals, that is the classification of American Beauty, can be tricky. Here is a website that will show you how to do it. Make sure you take at least 6 cuttings as some may not strike.
