Joseph Coat-all red this year

Question
I have a Joseph's Coat rose that is several years old.  As recently as last year, the blooms of this rose were as anticipated for this variety- red/orange/yello.  I have not pruned the rose- same old branches- yet this year it is more like the color of a Don Juan...all red...no variety at all. This is not new growth coming from the root stock.  This over the entire bush on old branches that delivered as expected last year.  Thoughts on what could cause this???

Answer
All roses are budded onto what is called an understock and this gives the rose more vigour. What has happened is that the Josephs Coat has died  either during the winter or because something has damaged the roots, and the understock has taken over. The understock is called Dr. Huey and it is a red cumber.
