Questionhi my name is chris. i have about 12 roses bushes. on about 6 of my rose bushes i have a problem with black spot on my foliage. i have sprayed them numerous times with the anti fungus spray and it doesn't seem to be helping. is there something I'm doing wrong or am i watering them to much?
AnswerBlack spot spores float around in the air and when the weather conditions are right and they land on a rose leaf, then they start their life cycle. So you can see that you really can't totally stop the roses getting this fungal disease and will have to spray. If your roses tend to get black spot it isn't the watering that is causing it but if is best to not water later in the evening as water sitting on the leaves encourages the fungus spores to grow if they are on the rose. Best to water when it can dry off. The best spray for this problem is Orthos Rosepride Funginex spray as funginex is a good anti fungal chemical. Just follow the directions on the package.
