Rose Bush replanting question

Question

Rose in question
Hi- I wanted to send 2 pictures but it seems I can only send one at a time.  About 2 years ago I planted 3 rose bushes near our walkway and they have done pretty well.  They get morning sun, afternoon shade and then late afternoon sun again.  The second picture (can not send) shows our front yard and the evergreens planted in the area along with 3 large maple trees in our parkway.

All 3 started to show signs of life like usual when the weather warmed up and while getting the yard ready for the warm weather I started to clean out some of the dead leaves and debris around the roses.  I noticed when I dug down that because of the evergreens and maple trees I had some non-rose roots in the area of the rose bushes.  So I thought it a good idea to re-plant them with good organic soil, rose feeder, new mulch.  I only did the middle one earlier in the week.

I replanted it and noticed much of the new growth died later on!  When I replanted it I cleared out much of the foreign roots and replaced with fresh organic mulch and rose feeder.  So now I am concerned.  Should I do the other ones?  Am I just better off not replanting them?  And what do you recommend for this plant?  Thanks

Answer
Replant all your roses near the maples as the tree have taken the nutrients form the roses and almost killed them. The photo shows a rose that is slowly dying. Dig them up and cut all the canes right back to 3 inches, plus cut any of the brown dead canes right right to  to the base. Give them some fertilizer and water well to keep the soil damp but not wet. What you are doing is starting the rose bush over again and this will result in a much healthier rose and it will also bloom much better for you.
