Question
rose close up
We live in zone 9, Houston area. Our "knock-out" roses have petals that do not stand out in
a smooth, rounded shape. They are "folded" or "crimped" having a pointed effect. Is there
something in particular that is causing this?
Many thanks for your help. Rita
AnswerThe shape may be due to your rose bush being a poor example of a Knock Out rose or it could also be caused because it is a young one and it takes about 2 years before you get the ideal shape of the rose flower. However I suspect that it is caused when the weather gets hot, as most roses will re-act by producing poorly shaped flowers when the temperatures goes above normal. Knock Out roses will look their best in the late spring and late summer.
