QuestionI received a potted rose plant not too long ago . I have watered it and had in a sunny spot indoors. The leaves are becoming brittle and she just doesn't look good. Is she dead
? How can I tell and if there is , what is the remedy to "bring her back".
Sincerely,
Beth
AnswerDoesn't sound too god but if you scratch the canes at the base and there is some green on them then it isn't totally dead. I would cut the rose right back to about 3 inches. If possible put it into a larger pot with potting soil. Sprinkle any kind of rose fertilizer around the base and then water it well making sure the soil is just damp but not soaking wet. Place the rose in filtered sun for three days and then put it in a place where it only gets morning and later afternoon sun, no high heat in the middle of the day as these small roses can't handle it. You should see normal new growth coming in less than ten days time.
