QuestionIn May we purchased and planted in a pot,(with Miracle Grow potting soil w/fertilizer), a knock-out rose bush that had blooms on it. Within a couple of weeks, the blooms died and fell off, but no more blooms have produced since and it has been over a month. The container is in full sun, gets watered regularly and the bush is still alive and healthy. Please advise
AnswerRoses hate to be moved and even if it is a better place than where they were before they still go under stress. When a rose is under stress, the roots don't work at full capacity taking up nutrients and water and that is why your blooms died. It now will take about 6 weeks to make new buds and flower again. However I think you should have seen some sort of bud making action before now. The fact that the rose bush is alive and healthy is a very good sign and because it is okay you will get flowers in a short time. This is not the first time I have heard of Knock Out roses not liking being disturbed and re-acting to the new situation.
