different colour roses

Question
i have a rose bush in my front garden and last year it flowered purple. this year it has two purple flowers and two white flowers. i have looked to see if there is any chance of there being two planted there but it comes from the same stem at the bottom so definitely the same plant plus i planted it so wasn't any previous signs of this. i am intrigued as to how this could happen if you could enlighten me i would be very grateful thank you

Answer
Roses have bloodlines just like people and sometimes they will revery to a rose in their background. This rise is called a sport. So you get the main colour on the rose and then one or many of the other roses will be a totally different colour. Many times the rose will just go back next spring to the colour it is supposed to be. If you know anyone who can take cuttings and grow them, you could get them to take a cutting of the white colour and make a new white rose bush.
