QuestionI have been told that because of the humidity and amount of rain we have gotten this year, that the reason my roses are not blooming and the stems are becoming a dark color from the root is because I have rose rott. Is this curable and how?
AnswerRose roots don't like to sit in water for two long because it kills the frail little feeder roots. When these roots die, because they take up the nutrients to the plant to make it grow, they are very important. Then because the water is still there, the main roots can't get any air because the soil doesn't dry out and the roots start to rot because a fungus gets in. I'm afraid there is no cure for satisfactory cure for root rot.
