QuestionI bought two rose trees last year. The bloomed nicely. This year they look dead. One started to get leafs but the leafs died. I have done nothing different to the rose trees.I did prune them and they started to grow back but have stop.I live in Canada,in zone 3.I did have them protected from the winter,so that wasnt the problem as they did start to grow. Now nothing, what leafs there was are gone. Are they dead,,if not what can I do?
AnswerRose trees are beautiful but they need a lot of warmth. If they don't get a warm winter then they will die. The only way you can have a tree rose in your zone is to grow it in a container and then place it in an unheated garage for the winter. A lot of trouble, but if you like tree roses it is what you have to do to save it from your cold winter.
