White roses turning brown and dying

Question
My white roses were doing beautifully and then I noticed red spots appearing on the petals.  I thought they had been damaged by recent rains/hail.  I had a large number of blooms that looked beautiful but then the blooms got the red spots, turned brown and just dried up.  What could be happening?  I used Bayer Advanced Rose care only once at beginning of season.

Answer
What you describe is called botrytis. It is cause when the flower starts to open and water gets in either by rain or by watering the plant. It then rots the flower which will look mushy, have red spots and finally dries up.   Cut the flower off and just make sure that when you water you keep it off the flowers as white roses tend to be prone to this problem.
