Question
I have used systemic products for about 8 years in a bed.  None for past 2 or 3 years.  Is it safe to plant edible herbs in that same bed?

Systemic sprays for roses only get into the sap of the rose so you will be fine to plant edible herbs where they have grown. A point to keep in mind. Roses are greedy and will take a lot out of the soil when growing in it. If you are going to plant any type of herb that likes a rich soil, I would dig a hole and then replace the soil before you plant the herb. Then it doesn't matter if the rose has depleted the soil of nutrients.
