QuestionI live in Zone 10 I am growing DKO in a container I had yellow leaves only to find soil was dry I watered heavily and roses perked up but now blooms are few 4 buds and they are quarter sized. I planted them 3 weeks ago.
AnswerWhen a rose has been transplanted it goes under stress. Finally when it gets settled into it's permanent place, it becomes used to the different surrounding and starts to grow well. If it gets a setback such as lack of water, then this means it will take longer to adjust to it's new home. The buds will be poor until it adjusts and then it will grow and flower normally. It would help to give it a light pruning which will encourage better growth. Also if you could place the container out of full afternoon sun, this will hasten it back to normal.
