Roses diseases

Question
My roses have black spot again this year. I have cut all the affected leaves, cleaned the flowerbed out, sprayed w/ a fungicide, and also bakingsoda water (not at the same time). We have had quite a lot of rain in the last 2 weeks in the DFW TX area, so it seems like I'm beating my head against a wall.  I see new yellow/black every day. Now I see black splotches that look like ink dropped on the leaves. Also should I be feeding for blooms or new leaves?

Answer
When it rains a lot the odds are against you in regards to getting a fungal disease such as Black Spot. The rain knocks the spores down onto the rose leaves and start start to grow. There have been good reports on using the dormant oil and sulphur spray which is used in the late fall and early spring before the roses leaf out. If your roses are prone to this disease it might be a good idea o try it. Just follow the directions on the package for roses.
