QuestionMy husband just bought me Kordana Roses from the Walmart. I would like to plant it outside. How do I go about this? It's the first time I've had any type of roses. I live in Johnstown, Pennsylvania (zone 5).
AnswerKordana roses are hardy and will do well outside. All you have to do is dig a hole larger than the pot, place the rose in it, and then cover it up with soil to the base of the stems. Sprinkle a handful of any rose fertilizer around the base and water the rose well. Water again in about 3 days and if the weather turns hot, water it every two days. Once the heat is over you can go back to about 5 days. All you are doing is just making sure the rose never dries out and that the soil is damp but not soaking wet. It shouldn't need any more fertilizer until next spring when it starts to leaf out. Kodanas are really easy care roses with no disease problems.
