QuestionHi,
I have an awful lot of wild roses growing in a field I've recently bought. I'd like an organic way to get rid of these, can you recommend anything, or do I just need to get the spade out and dig them out.
Many thanks & I appreciate this might not quite be your area or expertise, but sure you know more than I do,
Graham
AnswerThe organic way to get rid of wild roses is to dig them out and dig them out and keep digging them out. Half an inch of cane means a new wild rose bush. I have wild roses right up to the fence of my property and every year and I go out and keep digging out the canes. Also at the end of the summer, I cut all the rose bushes farther way, down so that destroys the hips which contains the seeds which the birds re-plant again. If you see them coming back (and they will) pour pure vinegar or salt and water on them. Don't give up because the roses won't give up!
