Questionwe planted 2 rose bushes last year and they seemed to be doing fine and then towards August we noticed there was silver on their leaves and then then ended up with holes where the silver was. What is the best course of action to take since I'm new at roses. Thank you for your help.
AnswerSlug like insects always leave a trail of slime on a leaf as they eat it. From your description it sounds like you some sort of rose slugs or even garden slugs. Garden slugs can be got rid of with any slug bait. All you do is sprinkle it around the base of the rose bush. Rose slugs can be killed by using horticultural oil as a spray on the leaves. There are also rose pest spray put out by Ortho and Bayer which will get rid of the problem quickly.
