I am curious as to how this rose received the name "Mr. Lincoln". Any chance you might know?

Rose names are usually given to the rose by the breeder and  Mister Lincoln was bred by O.L. Weeks and Herbert C. Swim in 1964, and introduced in the United States by Conrad-Pyle Rose nursery which is now Star Roses. One can only assume that one of the men who bred it, was a fan of the president, thought because the rose was such a good one that it should be named after him.
