QuestionHow do I eliminate weeds in my flower garden organically
AnswerAlas oganically weeding usually means hand weeding with a trowel. If the weeds are not close to the plants, you can use boiling water, full strength vinegar, salt and placing 5 thickness of newspaper over the weeds in the spring when they start to show. Nothing keeps weeds down better than any type of mulch spread on a 4 inch thickness. There are different types of weeds just as there are different types of garden plants. If the weeds are growing from seeds the above liquids will work just fine on them. If the weeds have been in the ground the year before then vinegar poured right on top of them is best. However if the weeds are the creeping perennial type, weeding with a trowel is really the only way to get rid of them. Then placing a thick mulch around the area will discourage any more weeds. If the weeds seeds drop on top of the mulch then they are really easy to simply pull out.
