QuestionI live not too far from Baltimore (Annapolis, MD) and have 3 knockout rose bushes that have developed holes in the leaves. I have sprays for bugs and kept an eye but don't see any and the holes keep occurring. This is the first year for these roses, they were planted in late spring.
AnswerHoles in rose leaves are usually caused by some sort of insect that is chewing or eating the leaves. Spraying should solve the problem. However some insects eat at night and then return to the soil at the base of the rose bush. Have you sprayed the soil around the base? If not I would make sure the soil is well sprayed and see if that doesn't help with your problem. If not please get back to me.
