QuestionWhat care does my knockout rose need to survive the winter?
I am in the Cleveland/columbus area, mid way Canton, Ohio
AnswerBecause Knock Out roses are very hardy, there really is no reason to protect them for the winter in your zone. However if this is the first winter they will be going through, then if you want to, you can take some soil from the garden and mound it up to about 8 inches all around the base of the rose bush. If they are planted with the graft a couple of inches below the soil line then I would simply leave them alone.
