no flower after a very cold winter

Question
Hi,  I planted 3 garden bushes (do not know the name/exact type) they had lots of nice flowers all summer.  A very cold winter killed 2  and the other one came back very late (around may) it is growing but no bloom.  I regulary fed them (once every 2-3 weeks).  Is there any hope for this summer?  Thanks

Answer
The problem with nasty winters is that the flower buds are often killed. If the flower buds are forming, it only takes a cold snap in the early spring to do them in. Your roses will now have to make new new flower buds and that will take about 3 weeks but they will bloom.
