QuestionI just moved to Missouri (zone 6) and have planted several varieties of roses. The David Austins are getting eaten alive by japanese beetles. I did use Sevin but was wondering if using an organic insecticidal soap would help?
AnswerYou will need a little more information to manage Japanese beetles. Thankfully they only stay for a short period of time but can do an amazing amount of damage in that time. If you only have a few roses, you can drape fine wedding veil type of netting over them to stop them getting at the plants. Here is an excellent site that you tell you how to manage these insects.
