QuestionI planted a rose bush and it bloomed several buds the first year, the next two years it hasn't even grown a bud? The foliage seem full and vibrant which also appears to be growing after the graft. It has plenty of sun, fertilizer and water. I do not see any disease or pests. Can you tell me what could possibly keep this climber from getting any flowers?
AnswerIt depends where you are growing this climber and what type of winter you get. If you get a very cold winter, then the flower bud could have been damaged. If the winter isn't cold, then the climber is making new growth at the expense of producing flowers. This is very normal for some climbers. Some climbers can grow very well for even three years and then start to bloom.
