degree F. days, should they be additionally. My gut reaction is that thy have
closed down and will recover overnight.

Watering deeply is good but don't overdo it as the roses will be unable to take up lots of water when under stress. Washing the whole rose bush down is a good idea even though the rose books say it isn't. The leaves can take up the water and this will help them not go crispy.
