QuestionQUESTION: i have a small potted rose tree that is giving me beautiful orange/red roses. i don't know if i am supposed to move it into the ground - keep it in the pot - move it to a larger pot and if i should bring it in during the winter. please help!!!!
ANSWER: If your rose is doing well then what you are doing now is perfect for it so I would change anything. It all depends where you garden in regards to whether it should be taken in for the winter or where it should be planted. Can you give me more information please?

QUESTION: i live in chicago - we have pretty harsh winters. i nave rose bushes planted outside, but this is the first rose tree i have had.
AnswerRose trees are always more tender than bush roses. The reason being that they are up in the sir and don't have the ground as a protection. I would just re-pot your rose into a bigger pot and bring it into an unheated garage for the winter. Every month during the winter give it half cup of water to keep it alive. Next spring give it a tidying up type of pruning to even it out all around, fertilizer it with Osmocote slow release 14-14-14 as this will do all summer and release a little fertilizer every time you water.
