QuestionI have roses growing up/over my pergola which are approximately 4 years old. it has produced a tremnedous amount of blooms each season, but after it bloomed this spring, i started losing leaves. any suggestions as to what could be happening?
thanks
AnswerIt is hard to say as I don't know where you garden, but roses let their leaves drop for a couple of reasons. One is that they need more water and the other is that they have too much water. Also roses really hate hot roots and this will make them drop their leaves very quickly. When a rose drops a lot of leaves the problem is usually with the roots so that is where I would try and see what might be irritating the climber.
