QuestionHello! I live in zone 7 in Lubbock, TX. I am looking for a rose that will tolerate 4 hours of direct morning sunlight and dappled shade throughout the rest of the day. It is for a location next to my back fence with plenty of room for height and room to grow about 4 ft. wide. I would like it to be an easy care rose and one that will bloom repeatedly until the first hard frost. What do you think about an Iceberg or one of the Knock Out roses? I'd appreciate any suggestions that you may have! Thank you.
AnswerBoth Iceberg and Knock Out are good roses but Knock Out wants full sun and although Iceberg will tolerate part shade, it could be disease prone. The best class of roses to grow in your situation are the Hybrid Musks. Most will do very well in your situation. There is a website with photos of them here. Most are disease free and bloom well into the fall.
