replanting container roses after the winter

Question
I had two roses in containers last year and they both did very well and bloomed consistently all summer. I live in Saskatchewan Canada, and was told to bury the roses in my garden for the winter and replant them in the spring. It is now fairly warm, still drops to 0 C. at night, so I was wondering when I should dig them up and replant them, and what is the best way to do this? Soil? Fertilizer, etc?

Answer
If your roses did well last year, then I would follow the exact same routine, as you are doing what is right for the roses to make them grow well. I would dig them up and replant them but still keep your eye on the weather and any nasty cold snap, I would cover them over with a piece of cloth.
