QuestionHave a shrub rose. (?variety) Beside the hip is a small round greyish growth,some seem to have tiny holes in them. Do you know what this could be? Live in Colorado.This shrub gets water from lawn watering. Thanks for help.
AnswerWhat you describe is called a rose gall and is caused by an insect that is making a nest for it's eggs. Just cut it off and burn it or put it in the garbage. It is one of those things that happens occaisionally to a rose but it probably won't happen again to yours. It has nothing to do with your rose care routine.
