QuestionDear Lyn,
My rose gives leaves and long stems only even in spring. Also the leaves are light green, thin and without the wax shine. Are all these showing any problem with the soil or fertilizers?
Elsa
AnswerRoses are activated into new growth after the winter by warm spring weather and this is the most vigorous time for a rose. Then after it has had the first flush of flowering it has another growth spurt but it is not nearly as vigorous as the first. Roses also have different types and shapes of leaves. If your rose is blooming in the summer for you then this will be natural for that particular rose.
