AnswerYour flowers are growing with the nutrients and the moisture that is left in the stems. You can try and see if they will make roots but you will have to put a few drops of household bleach in the water every time you change it to kill the bacteria which will clog up the base of the stems. I would also add a small sprinkle of sugar for fertilizer each too too. Change the water every three days to keep it fresh and never allow any leaves to get into the water as they too will spoil it for the flower stems. When you see the roots re-plant the stem into a seedling type soil mixture and keep it damp but not really wet. If you want you can even place a glass bottle over the top and make a little greenhouse but when the leaves start to grow then take it off.
