Question
My mini rose tree got broken close to the ground after last night rain and wind. Is it possible to sabe it? Attach it back together?

Rose trees are made by starting a Rugosa or sometimes another type rose and when it grows they knock the side canes off so it grows into a straight stem. Then they bud a different rose on the top  and this is usually the one that you buy. So what you have is two different roses. Now when the tree rose is a small one it can be the same rose as the one on the top. They could have made the stem go straight up to a certain height and then let it grow out. If that is the case, the same rose will grow back from the broken base. I would cut the base off clean so it isn't ragged and maybe the top rose will grow from it. If the roses are a single carmine then you have lost the top and it is the Rugosa that is coming back.
