Rose for my grand-daughter

Question
QUESTION: I am looking for a rose named Beatrice. She turns 1 year in June and I want to plant a garden for her and would love to have a rose ( or any flower ) named Beatrice. I would appreciate any help you can give me.

ANSWER: Hello Sharon, thank you for your question.  There is a rose named 'Beatrice'.  It is a Floribunda bred in 1968 By the northern Irish breeder McGredy.  I've searched for a nursery who sells it, but so far with no luck.  There's another, but a Hybrid Tea, also named Beatrice, patented in 1995, but I could only find it for sale at one nursery in Italy, called Rose Barni in Pistoia, Italy.

There are roses with Beatrice as a part of the name, such as 'Beatrice Krismer', etc.  If you like, I can search for your grand-daughter's middle name or a nickname, if she has one yet.  You could also go with a rose witha name which personifies your grand-daughter, such as Angel, Beautiful, etc.

I hope this was at least a bit helpful, though do feel free to write back to me for a further search.  I'm certain we can find something!
Best Wishes,

QUESTION: Thank you so much for your quick reply. Her nickname is Bea, it means Bearer of Joy. It is well suited. Any other help would be appreciated and I will continue to search for these. Thanks so much.

Answer
Hi again! Here's another that I've found for you:
'Hope and Joy' is a lovely little miniature which is red on the top of the petals and white on the reverse.  Sequoia Nursery, aka Moore's Miniature Roses caries this. Here's their web address:  http://www.sequoianursery.biz/about.html
and here's a website which lists the names of roses in the world, called 'Help Me Find'. The website is at: www.helpmefind.com.  You'll have to register - it's free - and then you can do what's probably the best searching on the web.  It's the best place to start.  Keep in touch if you don't find anything.  I do breed roses and could always name a unique seedling after your grand-daughter.  My very first internationally introduced rose was named after my best friend's daughter, 'Malaika'which means Angel in Swahili.
Best of luck and happy birthday to your grand-daughter!
