Answer
Hello Stephanie and thank you for your question.  To help me to give you a proper answer, could you give me a few more details about your green rose, please?

It will help me to know: about how high and wide was the bush; describe the flowers a bit more - were they scented, how wide across was each bloom, did it have five petals or many, many petals, what shade of deep green were the flowers, did it bloom all season or just once per year, were the flowers in clumps of many flowers like a tall garden phlox or did they bloom one flower per small stem on the cane?
What region and climate did the rose grow in - cold winters, tropical, dry flatland, etc.

In the rose world, there is only one true green "flowered" rose, and it is a species of old China roses called 'Rosa chinensis viridiflora'. The rose is green because it actually has no petals, but only multiple sepals (the leaf-like pointed parts of a flower which are located under the petals and enclose the petals before the flower opens.) However, there is a modern hybrid, which is classified as a Floribunda or cluster-flowered rose, called 'Greensleeves'. It was bred by Harkness in England and introduced in 1980.  It has large, 2-3 inch flowers in clusters which are a lovely chartreuse-green colour.  The flower buds start out pinkish, but then open green. It has very little, if any, fragrance.  It flowers throughout spring to autumn and gets about 4-5 feet tall.

I look forward to hearing from you - let's find your rose! :-)
