QuestionI have been babying a rose bush all through the Arizona hot summer and it hung in there - slight growth - weather starting to cool off and I got LOTS of new growth and was very excited for this rose bush - now after about 3 days the new growth is wilting badly and seems very unusual. I have watered this plant a little bit when the new growth started afraid to over water... help! I really don't want to lose this Sedona Rose bush - thanks!
AnswerWhen a rose wilts it is usually due to something that is happening to the roots. Something could be nibbling at the roots, the roots may not get enough water or they may be getting too much water. Too much fertilizer will also cause rose wilt. You could take a trowel and dig along side of the rose and see just how far the water has gone down. Perhaps the night temperatures injured the tender new growth. Many things will cause wilt but it won't kill the rose. It honestly sounds like not enough water to keep the new growth firm. Sorry I couldn't have been of more help for you.
