Questionwe have had extremes in weather in knoxville, tn..for the last 2 weeks 95 degrees or over, but b4 that we had 2 weeks of rain..overall we are 14 " plus behind on rainfall this year...i bought a pink don juan rose bush at Kroger grocery store 2 weeks ago but i am afraid to plant it in this awful heat. have been keeping it in the carport til weather lightens up..is that ok?..seems to be healthy, is blooming but i am worried about keeping it in its original plastic tub too long..it has a burlap inside the plastic pot..what should i do?
AnswerYour rose will be fine if you keep it where it has some sunshine on it. Just keep the soil moist and give it a mild fertilizer such as fish fertilizer and it will be fine for a few weeks. Sitting it upright in a pail will make the rose growth upright instead of on a slant. This rose may not have long roots and if you take it out of the plastic tube you could cause a mild shock so I would leave it where it is and when you plant it make sure it gets watered daily. Hope this helps.
