Questioni have a miniature rose bush that I both at lowe's last year. It was beautiful with small perfect blooms and smooth green leaves. This year it started getting burgundy colored new growth in some places that eventually turned green but, as the leaves started to unfurl they were curled and felt thicker than many of the other leaves. The buds as well looked odd; kind of tight, small and misshapen with burgundy instead of green around them. They dried out quickly. The new leaves from these stems became light green with dark green veins and were thick and rough feeling. The rose is planted in a raised been with top soil and peat added. mulched with wood chips and fertilized with plant tone. Please help I am very discouraged. in addition I thick it has a touch of black spot. thank you.
AnswerOh boy, this is a question I don't like answering because your problem is serious. I think your little mini rose has a disease called Rose Rosette and there is no cure for it. here is a web site that has photos of the disease so you can perhaps identify and see if it is your rose problem. There is no cure and the disease can spread to any other roses so I would make sure that you burned the rose to be safe. If it isn't this disease, and I certainly hope it isn't, then please get back to me again.
