QuestionHello again! I asked a couple questions before concerning my two miniature rose bushes that were badly infected with black spot. After following the directions you gave me both rose bushes are quite healed and have plenty of new growth to replace the old. But for some reason, about two weeks before black spot appeared on the roses the flowers on both started opening the wrong way. I'm not quite sure how to explain what I mean, but you know how roses look after the flowers are dead and it's time to dead head them? Well, the roses would open like that, all inside out and ugly. Well after the red rose bush recovered from the black spot, it's flowers are opening correctly again. But the pink one, which recovered at least a month before the red one, is STILL opening inside out. Is there anything I can do to get it to open right, or will it be like this forever? I've heard that bad sickness can indefinitely affect a weak rose bush. Is that the case with mine?
Sorry for the long question, and thanks a lot.
AnswerWhat you are describing is called proliferation. This happens when you get a weird spring, especially one with lots of rain. It deforms the flowers. It is the first flush that is deformed but the second flush should be the way it is supposed to be. If in a months time it still is looking strange then it isn't proliferation and please get back to me. Hope this helps.
