QuestionHello! I asked a question before about my two miniature rose bushes (one pink, one red) that were covered in Black Spot. I followed the advice given to get rid of the black spot, and it worked perfectly. My problem now is that one of the bushes doesn't seem to be recovering. The pink one has new leaves to replace the ones that had to be pulled off, and is now covered in buds and flowers. But the red one only got new leaves at first, and then stopped growing them. It doesn't have a single bud, and isn't getting any bigger, while the pink bush seems to get bigger by the hour. Why won't my red rose bush recover after the disease? Should I move it back into the house, where it was doing just fine before it got black spot? (It's currently in it's pot in the balcony. I wanted to put it somewhere with screens to cut down the chances of it getting bugs) Thanks for your help!
AnswerTo get rid of black spot most sprays are quite strong and some roses will re-act to them. It appears that your red rose didn't like the spray and it has slowed down the growth. This little red one may be very prone to black spot and i it is then there really is nothing you can do. Some roses are really black spot prone and will get it all the time. Give your red one some fish fertilizer as a foliar spray. About 1 tablespoon to a quart of water. This should perk it up. You can also spray it on the other roses too. Hope this helps.
