QuestionHi, Lynnette, hope you can help me. I live in Odessa, Texas, Zone 7, and had a beautiful pale yellow rose but the blooms are now all tinged with pink. I much prefer the original color and want to know how I can get it back. Is there some fertilizer, etc., that it needs?
AnswerIt is not unusual for pale to medium coloured roses to change colour especially in the spring. It is the weather that causes it and certain springs seem to make it worse. Your rose will not stay that colour but will revert back to it's proper colour but it may not happen until the second flush. So don't worry it isn't going to stay that way. Fertilizer has no effect on a rose. Very acid or very alkaline soil can change the shade of a rose colour but not cause a different one. Hope this helps.
