QuestionI live in the Toronto area. Two years ago I moved a rose bush,(folribunda)which had been quite healthy and since then it vigorously grows leaves and new branches, but not a hint of a bud anywhere. Is there anything I can do, or is it a lost cause? Thanks for any advice you can give me.
AnswerEverything sounds normal to me. You wants the transplanted rose bush to make canes and leaves first because making flowers takes a lot of effort at the expense of new growth. I would pull back on the fertilizing and not give it any at all. This will slow down the green growth and the plant can then concentrate on making new blooms. Roses really hate to be moved and will always go into some kind of snit when you do it.The rose sounds okay to me. Hope this helps.
