Questioni want to move some roses to another spot in my garden how do i do that and when is the best time im living in south africa
AnswerThe general rule for transplanting a rose is to do it when the rose is dormant in other words when it has dropped all it's leaves. That is usually late fall or early spring. I'm not knowledgeable in regards to the climate in South Africa but I would move the roses at the coolest part of your winter. If the winters are so mild that the leaves stay on then you will have to cut the roses back by a half and then take off all the leaves. This puts them into a dormant state and then they can be moved. Make sure you then water them well as you will have destroyed a lot of the feeder roots which can't be helped. It will take a little over a month for the roses to re-grow new ones. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
