QuestionI live in Murfreesboro, Tenn. and recently we had couple weeks of super cold weather, after my rose of sharon had leafed out,now the leaves are dead. My question is will it leaf back out later now that it has warmed back up.
AnswerI am only knowledgeable in the area of roses. The Rose of Sharon is a shrub called a Hibicus and likes warmth. Shrubs are able to put out another set of leaves if the first set is damaged. Wait until the weather warms up and then see if the leaves will come out again. If they don't they may come out further down the stems, then cut back to about half an inch above where the leaves are. This weird weather is messing up many of the gardeners plants. Hope this helps.
