QuestionMy Father-in-law years ago told me about spraying roses with water & some liquid dish soap........preventing rusting leaves. Have you heard this.......the chemical stuff does not work very well. If you know about this what is the mix combo?
AnswerSoap used to be made of organic materials but nowadays it is a pure chemical and can damage a rose if you use too much. If you want to use non chemical prevention for rust then here is the formula. But bear in mind that some roses are very prone to rust and no matter what you do, if the conditions are right, they will get it.
1 quart of water
1 tablespoon baking soda
3 drops dish soap as a sticker.
Spray every 8 to 10 days
Hope this helps.
