QuestionHello Carlene,
I am living in Germany and am having a hard time with my language skills still. I have a little miniature rose on my windowsill that was doing very well for about 3 months. I water it and feed it with rose food.
My daughter went to a nursery on a school trip and brought home a mint plant that she had self-planted and is very proud of.
I put that pot on the same shelf near my rose. Within a week, the leaves on my rose began to turn yellow and fall...now after 4 weeks, the stems are still hanging in there, but all the leaves are gone and there are small "webs" on them, as well as on her mint planat. At first I didn't associate that the webs came from the mint, but now I'm pretty sure about it. I'm trying to save them both but don't really know what to do.
Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Carolanne
AnswerHi Carolanne-
Well - I hate to say it but miniature roses generally do not live long in a windowsill, they last longer in a pot outside or in the ground. The fact that yours lasted 3 months is very good. But what I would do is try spraying both plants with a fungicide/insecticide you can get from a home improvement store or garden center. If the leaves are gone on the miniature rose - it might take a miracle to save it. I hope you do.
Good luck-
Carlene
